RF Upgrade
Overview
Capricorn Space is presently upgrading the Radio Frequency (RF) componentry associated with the two Capricorn Space antennas which will enable clients to connect at either S-Band directly or via a 70 MHz Intermediate Frequency.
The upgrade will also provide Capricorn Space with access to additional test ports at S and X-Band for confirming the correct operation of the RF subsystem
This capability is being designed, built and tested by Capricorn Space and is scheduled to become operational in Q2 2025.
Features
- S-Band clients will have ability to connect directly at 2 GHz or via an intermediate frequency at 70 MHz
- Inclusion of spectrum analyser measurements points at antenna interface
- Additional signal inject and sense ports across the RF subsystem to assist with maintenance and support activities
